Samsung will withdraw from global LED lighting business

Seoul, October 27 - South Korean technology giant Samsung announced on Monday that it will withdraw its LED lighting business in all markets except South Korea.

When Li Jianxi returned to Samsung Electronics in 2010 and served as chairman of the board, Samsung Group identified the LED market as a new growth business.

Recently, a British lighting media revealed that "Samsung will withdraw from the global LED lighting business" and pointed out in the article - in a statement issued by Samsung: "We have decided to stop the LED lights business in all markets except South Korea, so that we can Focus more resources on our core business areas, keep the LED component business active in the LED industry, and continue to provide high quality products and services to our customers."

This news is believed to surprise many people, because Samsung LED products have a great reputation in the lighting industry. Through the prominent position in LED components, LED lights and lamps seem to be “waterful” and most It may break into the "big four" of lighting. The Korean giant can completely "stand out" because of its huge marketing budget, and has the ability to develop consumer-centric products and LED expertise acquired from TV and mobile phone services.

Just last April, Samsung also held a "Samsung Lighting Future 2013 Samsung LED Lighting New Product Launch Conference". At the meeting, Samsung LED lighting five new LED lighting products were released: two bulbs, MR16, PAR30 and lamps. Just as everyone imagines that a company like Samsung will be gentle in entering the lighting industry, and this news broke out.

From the recent period of time, Samsung seems to be following Philips, and believes that the global LED retrofit lamps are highly commercialized and low-margin, which is not worth the candle. Philips recently decided to spin off its lighting division, focusing on healthcare, and seems to have shown that in the LED bulb consumer market, large companies struggle to compete with smaller Asian competitors because of their aggressive vicious nature of price competition.

Samsung China

It is understood that in recent years sought to force in the field of LED lighting Samsung Electronics, the market strongly in unlimited Chinese implementation of the "localization" strategy, repeatedly stressed that "we are China Samsung, Samsung China rather than" And is committed to "being a company that the Chinese people love and contributes to the Chinese society." In order not to miss the opportunity of the rise of China's LED market, Samsung LED is now working with domestic manufacturers to understand and penetrate the Chinese market faster and better.

Samsung signed strategic cooperation agreement with many Chinese LED lighting companies. On May 2, 2013, Zhejiang Hehui Lighting and Samsung Electronics signed a strategic cooperation agreement on LED lighting. In April 2014, Henderson Technology and Samsung LED signed a strategic cooperation memorandum 2014. On April 10, Hanyuan and Samsung signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement. On June 10, 2014, Shenzhen Rishang Optoelectronics signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Samsung Electronics. On July 14, 2014, Jiangsu Linyang Lighting and Samsung Electronics signed a strategic cooperation memorandum 2014. On August 15th, Jinxin Lighting signed a strategic cooperation with South Korea's Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics signed a strategic cooperation with Huazhong Lighting. On August 25, 2014, Zhongshan Stereo Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and Samsung Electronics signed a strategic cooperation memorandum on September 17, 2014. Electronics signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhongshan Hongbao Electric Power Co., Ltd.

Application programs are normally developed in the CPU`s RAM memory and executed from RAM memory. If additional program integrity is desired, or operation of the PLC without a battery is desired, an optional EEPROM or EPROM can be installed in a spare socket (labeled PROGRAM PROM) on the Model 311/313 backplane or in a socket on the model 331/341 CPU Module. EEPROMs can be written to and read from. EPROMs can be read when installed in the PLC; however, they must be written to using an external PROM programming device. Following is the procedure for adding or changing the EEPROM or EPROM. For clarity, the term PROM is used to refer to either an EEPROM or an EPROM. 1. Remove power from the system. 2. If 311/313 Remove all modules, including the power supply. Remove the plastic cover. 3. If 331/341: Remove CPU from backplane. Remove front plate and bezel. Unsnap circuit board and remove from case. 4. If the socket is the type which has a screw near the top edge (some versions of 311/331), loosen screw at top of PROM socket (CCW twist;). 5. If present, remove old PROM from socket. Replace with or install new PROM. Orient the PROM so the end with a notch (the top of the prom) is toward the top edge of the backplane. Pin 1 of the prom is the first pin on the left as you move counter–clockwise from the notch. On the 311/331, correct installation orients the notch toward the screw.
