From the perspective of standardization status, the current standardization work of SON is still mainly carried out in 3GPP, and the focus includes the application scenarios and implementation solutions of SON in wireless networks, and the impact of the corresponding S1 / X2 interface. The impact and demand of SON on the telecommunications management network are mainly studied in the technical specification group SA of 3GPP. SA mainly discusses how to transform and upgrade the existing network management system and interface to achieve the performance detection and policy control of SON. Currently it is mainly undertaken by SA5. SA5's research work on LTE SON has also started since 2008. The standardization work of 3GPP R8 and R9 has been completed. As the network structure becomes flatter and more distributed, and application scenarios and multimedia services become more abundant, the SON of wireless communication networks will become more and more important. Faced with the deployment and operation of next-generation broadband mobile communication networks, in order to reduce operating costs and maintenance costs, operators must establish and operate a network on the one hand; on the other hand, they need to simplify the user's use process. Therefore, the trend of next-generation mobile networks must be "self-configuration", "self-optimization", and "self-healing", and the influence of human factors on the network is getting smaller and smaller. SON technology just meets the needs of the future market and technology, so it has very good market prospects and application prospects.
Combined with China's national conditions, based on the TD-SCDMA technology evolution, the adoption of TD-LTE + technology solutions in 4G is in line with China's long-term development plan, and is conducive to China's mastery of independent intellectual property rights at the core of 4G systems. As a key technology at the 4G network level, SON will determine the pros and cons of the TD-LTE + system network performance, and will also affect the TD-LTE + network construction and operation and maintenance costs, as well as business and application development. SON technology can promote the development and evolution of traditional network planning, optimization and management technologies.
