Sanyo enters the delisting countdown Panasonic speeds up the transformation of LED lighting and other products

In January 2012, the cold current struck, and Panasonic unveiled the reorganization and integration of Sanyo. According to information from the Matsushita Group, from April this year, Matsushita will take over the “all businesses” of Sanyo, and plan to convert Sanyo’s retail stores in Japan into Panasonic’s retail stores “in phases and in batches”. This means that the Sanyo brand has entered the delisting countdown, and Panasonic has also demonstrated its attempt to accelerate the transition to Green.

It is reported that Sanyo Electric's "SANYO" logo outside the headquarters building in Osaka, Japan, was demolished at the end of December last year. In January 2012, Sanyo will carry out restructuring and integration work with Panasonic. Some analysts said that after Matsushita acquired Sanyo, it plans to retain only Sanyo's core solar and battery sectors, and other businesses will be stopped or sold to other companies. With the strengthening of Panasonic's global unified brand strategy, Sanyo brand will cease to exist from April 2012. The only exception is the washing machine and refrigerator product line, which have been sold to Haier Group.

It is understood that in April 2011, Matsushita Electric changed Sanyo Electric and Matsushita Electric into a wholly-owned subsidiary. Behind these two major industry consolidations, Panasonic’s strategic transformation trajectory is clearly highlighted: the electronics manufacturer will integrate five business areas into three groups: consumer, component and equipment, solutions, and the existing 16 The department will be consolidated into nine, including home appliances, energy and healthcare.

The reorganization aims to expand Panasonic's energy business and expand energy as a major area by selling energy-saving products such as solar panels and LED lighting equipment to markets such as homes, retail stores and buildings.
