Asian LED display sales increase this year

Market research company GfK Asia said that LED display sales continue to grow.

GfK Asia pointed out that in the continuous evolution of the PC industry, the desktop monitor market has matured, but LED display panels have injected new vitality into this area.

In the first three quarters of this year, consumers in nine Asian countries and regions have purchased more than 4 million LED displays worth over US$700 million.

In September 2010, sales of LED monitors in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam were 24%.

GfK Asia regional customer director Gerard Tan pointed out that LED display sales in the third quarter were more than double in the second quarter, but the overall Asian market slowed down. The data shows that LED sales growth in economically developed countries and regions is faster than in developing markets.
