This Beijing local standard for the first time specified in detail the requirements for the selection and storage of fireworks and firecracker retail outlets, and most of them are mandatory.

For the opened firecracker retail outlets, the draft standard has established a minimum allowable distance from its surrounding targets to ensure safety. Such as nursing homes, hospitals can not be set up at least 20 meters around; and primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, the minimum distance is 40 meters.

At the same time, small outlets with an area of ​​only 10 to 20 square meters, the storage of fireworks is limited to 50 boxes.

In the past, many retail outlets generally used their own wires to install a simple light bulb, which may be banned in the future. The draft requirements for lighting fixtures, switches and sockets should all be closed type waterproof and dustproof type, the light source used fluorescent lamps, incandescent bulbs should not be used.

No hazardous chemicals storage tanks in the Fourth Ring

Beijing Municipality Standard "Safety Requirements for Dangerous Chemicals in Above-ground Storage Tank Zones" was solicited on July 14th for comments on the website of the Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.

The draft standard mentions that in the urban core area within the Fourth Ring Road, hazardous chemical storage tanks should not be installed, and the site selection should be on the upwind side of the minimum annual frequency of winds in neighboring towns or residential areas, but these are recommended terms. It is not mandatory.

However, for flammable liquid storage tanks, liquefied gas storage tanks, and flammable gas storage tanks, the standard requires that they be separated from loading and unloading areas, auxiliary production areas, and living and office areas.
