Less than 1% coverage, when drone spraying pesticides "fly"?

Traditional one-pot, one-pot manual spraying of pesticides has gradually been eliminated. The drone spraying pesticides that are popular in European and American countries still have low coverage in China.

From the 25th onwards, 1600 acres of Baibai demonstration base in Liantang Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai will use unmanned aerial vehicles for pesticide spraying. In the white sand of a football stadium, it takes about three to four minutes for a drone to travel. It takes less than five minutes to complete the spraying mission. Atomized pesticides are quickly pushed under the crop by the force of the drone propeller and are easily absorbed.

For a long time, the Baibai plant protection work in Liantang Township of Qingpu District has relied on manual operations, with long working hours, low work efficiency and high spraying risk. Chen Wei, head of the agricultural machine station in Qingpu District of Shanghai, said: “The efficiency of plant protection operations for drones is 40-60 times that of traditional manual operations. It can also reduce the use of pesticides and enhance the safety of spraying. This operation is both an attempt and a Demonstration hopes that more farmers can see the advantages of drone plant protection."

The plant protection drone uses the Dajiang MG-1 agricultural plant protection machine. According to reports, Dajiang has currently established two MG-1 plant protection teams in Shanghai, with nearly 30 professional flyers. Since March of this year, the plant protection team has accumulated more than 10,000 mu of work area in Shanghai, and its spraying targets include rice, corn, water chestnuts, and peaches.

The use of 10,000 mu of land is still only a fraction of a kilogram, failing to cover 1% of Shanghai's overall demand, and the gap in professional flying is one of the constraints. According to Jin Hailin, general manager of Shanghai Xinyi Plant Protection Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., who sprayed this spray, although the flight school was built with Dajiang, the professional flyman is still in short supply, and the amount of work can not meet the needs of farmers. “Before there were unprofessional riders to carry out agricultural plant protection, the results either could not be effective, or the crops were killed, and drones flew off.”

Niu Qingliang, a researcher at the Shanghai Jiaotong University’s School of Agriculture and Biology, said that at present, the labor force in China’s rural young and middle-aged population has been decreasing year by year, and the problem of low mechanization in agricultural plant protection has become increasingly prominent. Compared with developed countries, the proportion of aviation plant protection operations in China is obviously low, and plant protection The development prospects of the UAV industry are worth looking forward to.
