Incandescent lamps will be eliminated, energy-saving lamps will be popular

At present, China's lighting electricity consumption accounts for about 12% of the total electricity consumption of the whole society, exceeding 430 billion kWh. If you replace all the incandescent lamps in use with energy-saving lamps, you can save 48 billion kWh per year, equivalent to 48 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

China has implemented green lighting projects since 1996. In 2008, the National Development and Reform Commission and financial subsidies promoted high-efficiency lighting products activities, and subsidized 30% and 50% respectively for large-scale users and urban and rural residents to purchase energy-saving lamps, but so far, China has not given a specific timetable for the final elimination of incandescent lamps.

Energy-saving lamps companies directly benefit

In 2009, the output of incandescent lamps in China was 3.76 billion, accounting for about one-third of the world's production. Among them, the output of compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) was 3.65 billion, accounting for more than 80% of the world's production. If the incandescent lamp is gradually replaced by energy-saving lamps in the next few years, the use of energy-saving lamps will increase rapidly.

At present, there are four energy-saving lamp manufacturers listed on the domestic A-share market, namely Zhejiang Sunshine (600261), Feile Audio (600651), Foshan Lighting (000541) and Snowlight (002076). These four companies will be the direct beneficiaries of the roadmap.

Zhejiang Sunshine issued a notice on the 25th, saying that the total number of high-efficiency lighting products promoted by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance in 2010 was 9.25 million, accounting for 5.95 million of the national high-efficiency lighting products promotion tasks in 2010 (excluding high-pressure sodium lamps). %, so the company's sales performance in 2010 will increase significantly.

Despite the elimination of incandescent lamps, the future market prospects for energy-saving lamps are broad, but industry insiders also believe that there are still two major difficulties in replacing incandescent lamps with energy-efficient lamps. First of all, the quality of energy-saving lamps is still uneven, and some lighting fixtures are not suitable for energy-saving lamps. Secondly, compared with traditional incandescent lamps, the price of energy-saving lamps is still much higher. At present, the financial subsidy policy to encourage efficient lighting is too single. Some local government officials involved in the promotion of energy-saving lamps also believe that local subsidies alone are not enough to complete the goal of eliminating incandescent lamps within a few years, and local finances are under great pressure.

Potential benefits for LED companies

In addition to the benefits of energy-saving lamp manufacturers, LED manufacturers are also potential beneficiaries in the future.

At present, the most likely replacement for incandescent lamps is the self-ballasted LED lamps. Zhao Yuejin, a senior engineer at the Institute of Resources and Environmental Standardization of the China National Institute of Standardization, revealed that the country has formulated its own self-ballasted LED standards based on the IEC. The self-ballasted LED national standard, which will be released soon.

Different from the energy-saving lamps incorporated into the national financial subsidy program, LED lighting subsidies are still outside the national subsidy gate. The main reason is that the quality of the LED terminal lighting system is unstable, and the LED lighting system standard has not been unified. Industry insiders expect that with the decline of LED lighting costs and the gradual introduction of relevant standards, the country is expected to include LED lighting within the 12th Five-Year Plan to include financial subsidies for promoting efficient lighting.
